The Mindset for eCommerce Success
Mindset for eCommerce Success
Starting an online business is no walk in the park. Trust me, I have been through the highs and lows. The journey to success is peppered with challenges, uncertainties, and emotional ups and downs. Starting an online business sounds fun but it requires hard work, tenacity and resilience. Did you know that only 20% of businesses achieve significant success? What sets these successful few apart is their mindset.
The Emotional Rollercoaster of Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is an emotional rollercoaster. It can be exhilarating, nerve-wracking, and downright exhausting. One day, you might feel on top of the world, confident and excited. The next, you could be questioning every decision, battling imposter syndrome, and feeling overwhelmed. The first year is the hardest because you will make mistakes and fail.
Emotional mood swings are a significant part of the challenges to success. How you manage your mindset during these moments can significantly affect your outcomes. That’s why you need to craft and understand your why.
The 20% Who Succeed
Only 20% of businesses reach the level of success they aspire to. What distinguishes them isn’t just a great product or service; it’s their mindset. Why are you doing this, and what is your end goal? Why do you want this so bad? What makes you want to never give up. Ask yourself why, and use the 5 WHY Analysis (google if you are unsure) . It’s the willingness to face setbacks, the courage to pivot the business when necessary, and the commitment to learning from every experience.
The Power of Challenging Your Mindset
Having a successful mindset doesn’t mean you never doubt yourself. Instead, it means acknowledging and challenging those doubts. It’s about recognising your mood swings but not allowing them to dictate your path. It’s about resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering belief in your journey. Manifest that you will smash through all your setbacks that there is no way but success for you. The importance of you believing in yourself and being kind to yourself will get you through days where you feel like giving up!
Adapting for Success
The path to success isn’t linear; it resembles a winding road with unexpected detours. But please remember that that’s OK; it happens to us all and is a part of the bigger plan. Being willing to pivot your business, change strategies, or even reimagine your initial vision are all signs of a successful mindset. It’s about the flexibility to adapt and evolve with the changing landscape. The more you can adapt, the more successful your business will be.
The Never-Ending Learning Journey
You need to constantly check-in. Are you ok? I do an exercise with my students; we have a' health check-in' for the first 5 minutes of our call. I always ask how your mind, body, and soul are. I know some may think this is too personable, but once you do this a few times, it becomes a part of your daily routine; it makes you aware of how you feel. I know founders who use this with their families, businesses and mentors! This is why I always say surround yourself with people like you or confide in someone who really understands you, even a mentor, friend, colleague, or family member. Every challenge, setback, and victory offers an opportunity to grow, adapt, and improve. This is where you are meant to be if you are reading this. You can do this, and if you need help, please reach out.
